Abu Dhabi will have a festival on 20 March 2027. It is called UNIFYD, it lasts one day, it takes place at Etihad Live on Yas Island, and its tickets are sold exclusively through a dedicated app.
What happened
Gulf News and What's On reported the announcement on 16 October 2026. The line-up fits on one line: more than fifteen artists across several stages (the number of stages has not been published), with Arijit Singh, Karan Aujla and Sonu Nigam headlining. The actor Shah Rukh Khan is named as the festival's curator, not its organiser.
The production is by D'YAVOL Live and District, in collaboration with the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi and Miral, and in association with Emirates NBD. D'YAVOL Live is part of D'YAVOL Luxury Collective, co-founded by Shah Rukh Khan, Aryan Khan, Leti Blagoeva and Bunty Singh.
What matters is in the last line of the announcement: tickets are sold exclusively through the District app. The presale for Emirates NBD cardholders opened on 19 October 2026 at 9:30 UAE time, with 24 hours of access. General sale opened the next day at 10:30. Prices have not been published.
Khan left one line in the announcement: "UNIFYD will bring together India's most incredible artists on one stage for the first time."
Why it matters
Two things, and neither is the line-up.
The first is the channel. The only announced point of sale is an app with the same name, District, as one of the festival's two producers; the announcement does not clarify whether they are the same entity. Selling exclusively through a single app means the promoter controls the inventory, the queue, the buyer's identity and the follow-up contact, with no open intermediary. It also means there is no second channel to turn to if the app fails on opening day, and that the ticket terms are set within that environment. Nothing has been published about UNIFYD's resale, refund or name-binding rules. We are not saying they don't exist: we are saying they have not been published, and that in a single-app model that point carries more weight than it does with an open ticketing platform.
The second is the calendar, and the observation here is ours: the sources do not connect the two facts. UNIFYD is on Saturday 20 March 2027 in Abu Dhabi. The official UNTOLD Dubai website announces three days, from 19 to 21 March 2027, at Dubai Parks and Resorts, after postponing its November 2026 edition. It is a weekend overlap in the same market, nothing more: neither side has commented on the other, and no conflict has been announced. But March 2027 is filling up.
This year has given reasons to look at the sales channel before the line-up. The Offlimits Music Festival in Abu Dhabi, scheduled for Etihad Park on 21 November 2026 with Shakira, Jonas Brothers, Ne-Yo and Biffy Clyro, was cancelled. The organisers announced automatic refunds through the original purchase platform and said they would return in 2027. When a festival falls through, the refund is processed by whoever sold the ticket: in a single-channel model, the seller is part of the project itself.
The UAE market has seen more movement in recent months, from the third season of Ushuaïa at Dubai Harbour to the music levy on concerts, which is a separate matter and which has not been verified as affecting UNIFYD.
